For almost a decade, I have had the privilege of teaching science and math at the Chick Buckbee Juvenile Detention Center. Over the years, I have seen firsthand how important positive activities are for the young men who live there. Unfortunately, recreational opportunities are extremely limited, and the ping pong table they once enjoyed has finally worn out after years of use.

I am raising funds to purchase two new ping pong tables for the center. Ping pong is more than just a game—it offers a chance to compete, learn a fun life skill, and, when played in doubles, helps build teamwork and social skills. A friend and I are committed to visiting the center in the evenings to teach ping pong, giving these young men something to look forward to and a positive outlet for their energy.

Your contribution will help provide increased recreational activities to a population that is generally ignored and has very limited contact with the outside world. With your support, we can bring a bit of joy and connection to these young men and show them that their community cares.
