Bring Nastya Home
Please help us adopt Nastya! She is an orphan from Ukraine and she needs our help.
We are Mark and Christin Bryant. We've hosted Nastya (Anastasia) three times over the last two years. This year Nastya asked us to adopt her and we said yes! Nastya is back in Ukraine now attending school but is eager to come home to America. Adoption is expensive and we need help raising the funds to pay for legal fees, travel expenses, and other unforeseen costs.
Our hope is to bring Nastya home by June 2020. The faster we raise the money the faster the process goes.
More about our story:
The first two times we hosted Nastya were very difficult. The first time we hosted Nastya was over Christmas 2016 for just 3 weeks. She spoke no English but had a blast experiencing Christmas in America, Disney World, and more. We were strongly considering adopting her so we decided to bring her back a second time. The second time Nastya was in America she was here for 8 weeks, and for 8 weeks every friend and family member who was suppose to help us fell through for one reason or another. We were alone, Nastya was alone, and she had no reason to want to stay in America or learn English. It was hard saying goodbye the second time because we knew that adoption was no longer something we could work towards with her as it was not something she wanted.
Then, last December Nastya messaged us asking to come back to America! We agreed on the condition that she learn to speak English. She agreed and we hired a tutor. Nastya worked very hard for almost six months multiple times per week to learn English. We picked her up for the third time on July 4th, 2019. Nastya stayed with us for four weeks. During this time Nastya engaged in the youth group at our home church, made friends outside of church, and became a part of our family. Nastya worked hard to speak English every day and took on responsibilities around the house, like doing dishes, helping cook meals, cleaning her room, etc. We enjoyed every moment with her, and we were blown away by how much she had grown and matured. Nastya loved playing monopoly with us almost every day and especially loves our two cats, Barry and Ezmai. We watched Nastya grow in Christ this summer. She loved listening to worship music in English and translating the lyrics word for word to each song. A few days before she left she asked us to adopt her and we of course said yes.
Saying goodbye to her was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. Watching our daughter get on a plane to fly halfway around the world, not knowing when we would see her again was too much to bare. We have been working hard to get the adoption process started. There have already been many obstacles and we know there will be more to face. The one thing that we know above all else is that God provides and will bring our family home to us.
A few concerns:
Safety: Nastya is a very beautiful almost 14 year old girl living in Ukraine. As she gets older and more independent she likes to wander outside after school. Sex trafficking is a huge problem in Ukraine and her risk of being a target grows greater every day.
Health: Last year Nastya fell and busted her arm open severely. When she was down this summer it became clear to us that she was still in pain and struggled using it normally. We need to get her to an American doctor to check it out and hopefully help her heal fully.
We thank you for your donations from the bottom of our hearts. Your help means the world to us and to Nastya.
