My name is Rebecca Rodrigues and I have lived in Concord for 25 years. My father, FERNANDO LUIZ DA SILVA RODRIGUES was abducted by ICE Thursday 1/22/2026 12:30 pm in Mobile County Alabama-stopped at a checkpoint on his way home from work. He had only left because my parents faced an eviction notice and my father refused to let his children sleep in the streets.
Our city is in uproar over his disappearance. In 24 hours we have raised 14 thousand dollars in hopes we can find a legal team. We have not been able to get a lawyer without money up front. FERNANDO plays the drums in several churches across Concord and Kannapolis. Including Multiply Church for 10 years (though he had not left the house for several months in fear of ICE). He plays soccer at our local soccer complex (Kings of Concord) every weekend, where he is deeply loved and known as ‘Brasil’ by our latino community who play there. He has two grandchildren who adore their Vovó and miss playing with him, three children who cannot breathe without him.
He has been denied medical attention for his high blood pressure. No food for 48 hours. CONCORD WILL NOT LOOK AWAY THE COMMUNITY IS ALREADY ON FIRE. We will do whatever it takes to bring Vovó, BRASIL, home.
Please help if you can—donate, share, pray. Every second matters.
This page supports his family to find him a legal team. Fernando is our main provider. As we wait for him to come home, this page supports and holds his family above water.
BRING MY DAD HOME.
We love you Pai. You work so hard for us-now we work hard and fight for you.
