On Wednesday, July 23rd, my younger brother, Miguel Angel Ortiz, was unexpectedly arrested and detained. He is just 30 years old, with his 31st birthday coming up in September.

Those who know Miguel know that he is gentle, kindhearted, and deeply caring. The type of person who would go out of his way to help someone else, never to harm. His arrest has left our entire family in shock. We know he is innocent and are doing everything we can to support him during this overwhelming time.

The truth is, we can’t do this alone.

We are raising funds to help cover bail and attorney fees, which are already mounting quickly. Every single dollar will go toward bringing Miguel home as soon as possible and making sure he has the legal representation he deserves.
