Help Bring Maximo Home to His Family
Our beloved friend, husband, father, and union brother Maximo Londonio has been detained by ICE and separated from his family—and we need your help to bring him home.
On May 16, Maximo—a 42-year-old lawful permanent resident and longtime Olympia resident—was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection at SeaTac Airport after returning from the Philippines, where he was celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary with his wife Crystal and their youngest daughter.
What was meant to be a joyful family visit turned into a nightmare.
Despite being a green card holder since childhood and having nonviolent convictions from over 20 years ago—fully resolved when he was just 19—Maximo was held for over four days at the airport with no clear answers. He has now been transferred to the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, a facility known for harsh and inhumane conditions. While Max is detained here, he will have to pay $5 per minute to speak with his family.
Maximo is the sole provider for his family. He works at Crown Cork and Seal in Lacey and is a proud, active union member of IAM Local Lodge 695. He supports not only his wife and three daughters—all U.S. citizens—but also extended family back in the Philippines.
His wife Crystal has been tirelessly fighting for his release. She has submitted court records, legal documents, and letters of support to immigration authorities and is now working to secure legal representation. But the legal battle is complex, urgent, and costly—and we need our community to rally around Maximo and his family during this traumatic time.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Legal fees to fight for Maximo’s release
Support for Crystal and their three daughters while Maximo is detained
Transportation, communication, and advocacy costs
Ensuring Maximo can return to his job, home, and family
Maximo is not a threat—he is a devoted father, loving husband, community member, and worker. He has rebuilt his life with dignity and purpose, and now his family’s future is being torn apart by a broken immigration system that’s targeting long-settled immigrants like him.
Please give what you can and share Maximo’s story. We must show that our communities do not abandon each other—we fight together.
