What a blessing it is to be called by God to adopt for a second time!  We are excited to announce that we have been matched with our little girl, and in late June we were approved by China. We anticipate we will travel to China around early-mid September to bring home our daughter, Korra Mei Liana.

Please continue to pray with us as we prepare our daughter for her new sister and for our multi-week trip to China as a family. Like our oldest daughter, Korra has a correctible congenital heart defect and additional medical needs, so we ask that you join us in praying for God to continue to keep her healthy until she arrives home. We are praying that these issues will not be significant once evaluated in the U.S. We were blessed to learn that she was placed in a loving foster home at 11 weeks old. This is a specific answer to several years of our prayers, as this type of individualized care significantly benefits a child during their most critical years of brain and physical development, as well as fosters future attachment. We are prayerful to find out if she was fostered by a Christian family, as a large number of foster parents in China are believers (part of the underground church) who take seriously God’s mandate to care for orphans.

As we enter this final season before traveling to China, we want to give family and friends an opportunity to help us bring Korra home. God has been SO faithful to this call in our lives by providing for our adoption every step of the way. Each adoption varies in cost, and we can now estimate our total expenses to be around $35,000. Through grants, gifts from others, and expenses we have paid to date, we’re thankful to report $15,000 of expenses have been covered, leaving us $20,000 from the total amount needed.  If God leads you to help, now is the time to do so, as fees will be due very soon. We are confident that God will provide for our needs as He has so faithfully done in the past.  We can't wait to introduce you to our daughter.
