On September 2, 2026, our lives changed forever. Keith was on his way to pick up his children from school when ICE was waiting for him and detained him. It is heartbreaking to believe that someone who was so close to him may have reported his whereabouts, knowing he would be picking up his children. Only one person knew where he was going that day, which makes this situation even more painful to process. It hurts to think that someone could make a decision that would affect not only Keith but also his innocent children and our entire family.

Because of this, Keith has been taken away from his two boys and the baby we have on the way. He may miss precious moments, birthdays, milestones, and the opportunity to watch his children grow up. No child should have to experience the pain of not knowing where their father is or why he is no longer there. His boys deserve their dad, and our unborn baby deserves the chance to grow up with his father by his side.

Keith has worked incredibly hard throughout his life. He entered this country legally and dedicated himself to building a better future for his family. He worked tirelessly to build Kenny Smash Burger, growing the business in both Florida and North Carolina, all while doing everything he could to provide for the people he loves. In a matter of moments, our lives were turned upside down, and the future we worked so hard for became uncertain.

Since Keith’s detention, I have been struggling emotionally, financially, and physically while trying to navigate this pregnancy without him. Pregnancy is already a challenging journey, and facing it without the person who is supposed to be by your side has been incredibly difficult. The stress, uncertainty, and fear have taken a tremendous toll on me, and the hardest part is knowing that Keith is missing out on so much with his children and the baby we have dreamed of welcoming together.
