Hi everyone,

This is one of those posts no one ever plans to write.

Katie is currently abroad and facing serious challenges returning to the United States due to a mistake with her visa status. What started as a short stay became complicated, and she is now required to pay significant fines and travel-related expenses before she can come home.

She’s safe, but she’s overwhelmed, financially stuck, and trying to navigate a foreign system without the support she needs. The total cost of fines, airfare, temporary lodging, and transportation is far beyond what she can manage on her own right now.

We’re raising funds to help cover:

• Immigration fines required before she can leave

• Emergency flight rebooking and baggage fees

• Temporary housing and meals while travel is arranged

• Transportation to the airport and basic necessities

This situation has been humbling, stressful, and eye-opening. Katie owns her mistake and is doing everything required to make things right, she just can’t do it alone.

If you can donate, even a small amount, you’ll be helping her take the final steps toward getting home safely. If you can’t, sharing this page means more than you know.

Thank you for being part of her path forward.

With gratitude,

Leigh
