Help SUNY Downstate Hospital Essential Workers
As of today, the essential workers are being told to wear garbage bags instead of gowns... this is crazy they need our help.
The United States has surpassed Italy and China with coronavirus cases, with New York being the epicenter.
Cuomo provided a directive to prepare the University Hospital of Brooklyn as a COVID-19 only facility.
Over the last few years, The MVP Foundation has worked with this hospital providing high-risk children with chronic illness anything they wanted for Christmas.
Now there is a new challenge... the health and safety of healthcare and hospital workers.
But what about the unsung heroes of the hospital -- members other than doctors and nurses (BTW I love all of you and thank you!) -- they need help, too.
I am talking about the security staff, electricians, engineers, IT, cleaners, transporters, and other technicians.
These workers are exposed to COVID-19 in a big way, yet they keep showing up to work every day and grinding it out, and they too are incredibly scared.
We will do what we can to buy them the PPE supplies they need, whatever that may be.
If the state or private sector beat us to it we will keep buying everyone lunch to help bring joy to their situation.
Thank you,
Jared Carmel
