Bring Joy to Pela's Life with a Golf Cart

Hi, Matthew and Cathlene here, we wish to help a dear friend. Pela is our mentor, counselor, and friend. Over the years she has given to her community without a thought for herself. She has given counsel to so many with no expectation of receiving in return. She still gives selflessly to charities and those in need.

Well, now she is in need. Pela is a young 85 year old, and lives on the small Island of Selina in Italy. She lives in a 300+ year old home, with her dog Nina and cat Bella. Normally, Pela is fiercely independent. She has been walking to the village market every week for 30 years. She also has trips to the bank and butcher that have to be done sometimes on separate trips. However, over the last several months, she has been experiencing swelling and pain in her legs. This is making it impossible to complete her weekly trek. You might ask, why not have her groceries delivered, or take a taxi, or use Uber or Lift? Most of these options do not exist or are cost prohibitive. She is currently relying on the kindness of neighbors and friends to help. And, this is beginning to be an inconvenience to those helping. It is also very hard on Pela to keep asking.

So, what we are asking of our community is two fold. Our first goal is to raise $1,100.00, which would enable the delivery of Pela's golf cart, which she has named Joy

Secondly, the additional $1,500.00 to take care of unexpected expenses associated with the purchase and shipping of the golf cart and unexpected expenses that have made it hard for her to maintain her health and home.
