As some of you may know, the past five years, my dad, Ed Schenck, has faced many health challenges, with a lot of ups and downs. This last June he was diagnosed with stage 3 sarcoma, located in his thigh. He had surgery to remove the tumor and underwent a couple of months of radiation. For a while, things were looking up, he was feeling much better and we were hoping for some relief.
However, he recently has his 3-month follow-up scans, found out the cancer has metastisized to his lungs. He is now terminal with about 6-9 months left. After speak to 3 different Oncologists, he has chosen to forego chemo, as it won't extend his time by much and will cause him to feel worse in the end.
We ask that you please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. If you're able to, we would also greatly appreciate any contributions to his bucket list fund. Some of the things he hopes to do include traveling back east to visit his siblings, attending his granddaughters' graduations, and, most importantly, spending time by a calm, warm body of water where he can swim, relax, and enjoy the sun.
We want to make the most of his time, bringing joy and fun to his remaining days. If you have any fun memories or uplifting thoughts to share, please leave a comment—we'd love to collect as many memories as we can.
With love,
