As the holiday season nears, Angel Trees are popping up again! If you are unaware of what an angel tree is, it is an opportunity for families that cannot buy holiday gifts for their children/special needs adults to ask the community for assistance. Angel trees are filled with “ornaments” (tags) with the individual's needs (sheet sets, underwear, winter gear), wants (drawing supplies, sports equipment), and wishes (a sketchbook, toys). The average amount spent per angel is roughly $50 to $70, and there is a constant need for angel sponsors in the Chicago area. There are many families in the Chicago area in dire financial need this holiday season, and many of these families will be almost entirely unable to provide their children with gifts. It is my hope that we might be able to sponsor an angel or two this holiday season as a facility. If you have the means to donate in any capacity, it would be greatly appreciated. All money contributed will go directly to shopping for our angels this year. The cutoff for donations will be December 10th, as this gives me enough time to gather the gifts.
