I am launching this Gofundme for my sister and her husband, they are newly weds who had HUGE plans. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law was detained by ICE and is currently sitting in a detention center in Elizabeth, NJ.

My brother-in-law Jose is an extraordinary person who truly embodies what it means to be a pillar of the community. He’s respectful, hardworking, and endlessly compassionate—always looking for ways to help others, whether it’s translating for neighbors, lending a hand to strangers, or simply showing up when someone needs support.

Jose also carries a heavy load at home. He’s the primary caregiver for his father, who doesn’t speak English and is unable to work, helping him with everything from medical appointments to daily needs. On top of that, he regularly supports my mother as well—always without a word of complaint.
