Any and all support from this fundraiser goes directly to travel expenses and building materials for the Youngbloods to travel to Houston and create an art car by the design of young Jazzlyn Jean Wonder Youngblood to drive in the 2026 Houston Art Car Parade at age 3.7 years old.
As some of you may know, our family has been a part of the Houston Art Car community from the beginning, with little Timmy AKA Banjo as the first Art Car kid and first tour guide of the Houston Art Car Museum. As well as Banjo's late stepdad, Reverend Bryan Taylor, first President of the Art Car Klub, first curator of the Art Car Museum and one of the founding organizers of the very first Art Car Parade, a pivotal player in turning Houston into the Art Car capitol of the world.
The Houston Art Car Community has made such an impact on our family and the community and we are grateful for this opportunity to represent the art car community, the city of Houston, The Medicine Show Revival and the Youngblood Family, as we venture into this year’s Art Car Parade with the desire to inspire young people around the world to pursue their passions and make more art.

The Youngblood Family is launching Jazzlyn Jean’s Wonder Machine as a youth-led, intergenerational art initiative designed to expand youth participation in the Houston Art Car community.
Amy Lynch-Kolflat educated us on her daughter's 18-year record of youngest Art Car driver, at the ripe age of 4 and thoroughly encouraged us to beat this record with the newest Art Car kid, with our (at the time) 1-year-old daughter, Jazzlyn. With her support in saying, “it's about time someone takes over this title,” we are taking advantage of this playfully competitive reason to create something so magical for our 3.7-year-old (at the time of this 2026 parade) daughter, in her joyous age of creativity, inspiration and wonderment. Breaking this record after 18 years will be proof of an active youth leadership within the community.
Jazzlyn Jean's Wonder Machine will catch the eyes of every child on the streets of the parade, with captivating paintings, stuffies or toys from their favorite television shows, as well as toys, like teddy bears, unicorns, Legos and bouncy balls, that are simply hard to resist regardless of their exposure to television. If a child is to miss the vehicle in its entirety, they certainly won't miss the bubbles pouring out of the “muffler” and into the crowds of the parade.
Jazzlyn is the genius behind the design and will have full credit wherever there is credit served up. She is picking out what goes where and has the final say in the artistic creativity as a whole, showing the community that it truly is never too early to start dreaming big.
This art piece will not only relate to young children, but to adults, as we intend to build this car out of a golf cart, a quad or a 4-stroke engine chassis of sorts, encouraging tinkerers to ponder how this contraption came to be. We will also be incorporating toys from older generations to appeal to the hearts of all audience members, despite their age. And of course, a Santa toy, giving homage to the Art Car icon and family legend, to hit the hearts of all Art Car family and friends who loved him.
We are respectfully requesting up to $8,200 from the community for The Youngblood Family to travel and stay in Houston for the Art Car Parade and the time and material expenses needed for building, prior to the event. These funds will go toward inspiring the creativity of thousands of potential future Art Car kids and the call to play for those of all ages.
Banjo and I are co-founders of a nonprofit, The Medicine Show Revival, a traveling community forward circus that utilizes our mobile stages (all attached to Art Cars) and local and national venues for community empowerment, education and entertainment, in support of the pursuit of passion. This donation can be to The Medicine Show Revival, please contact Kamo for a receipt for tax purposes.
These numbers are a comfortable estimate for the whole family (Banjo [Dad], Kamo [Mom], Jethro [Brother], Jazzlyn [Art Car Artist] AND Yaya [Grandma]) to attend Art Car week and for Jazzlyn and Kamo to travel to Houston two weeks prior to Art Car week to collect and build out the contraption!
