Justice for Jair: Help Reunite Lexie's Family

My sister, Lexie, and her husband, Jair, have spent years trying to secure his legal status the right way. Jair is a loving father to their 4-year-old son and has been married to Lexie, a U.S. citizen, for five years. He entered the country legally as a minor.

This week, they attended their scheduled marriage-based green card interview, fully expecting a step toward approval. Instead, Jair was separated from Lexie and detained by ICE.

Jair is not a criminal. He was unjustly detained while simply following the government's process. Lexie is devastated, calling this the most traumatic experience of her life. Jair is now in detention, separated from his wife and son, likely facing the holidays alone.

We are urgently working with a legal team for an Immigration Court bond hearing to secure his release.

1. All the funds will be given to Lexie to cover the high cost of critical legal fees, immigration bond and to financially support Lexie while Jair is away.

2. Raises awareness about how families who follow the rules are still being unjustly targeted and separated.
