BECAUSE KIDS DESERVE A PLACE TO THRIVE
Help Andre put his dream into action by supporting the building of a 4,000sq. ft. INDOOR SKATEPARK for the community of St. Helens OR. Goal is the have phase 1 of the skatepark completed by mid April 2022, cost $140,000. The building needs new HVAC system, electrical updated and lighting in addition to the park buildout.
Inspired by a 9yr old's love for skateboarding and his desire to provide a safe supported place where everyone can skateboard year around. With the belief by providing a skateboarding space that can be used year around, skateboarders will have a place to build self-confidence, leadership and creativity, in addition, through lessons, mentoring, and afterschool programs we can enrich our local St. Helens OR community.
Skateparks build and sustain healthy communities. As a gathering place for everyone, the skatepark provides a safe space for young and old, beginning and skilled, to meet and share experiences. For many skateboarding youth, the skatepark becomes a home-away-from-home.
The Playground Indoor Skatepark is in the process of becoming a local non-profit 501(c)(3) nonprofit that will be entirely volunteer-run. As a non-profit, no skater will be turned away if they cannot afford the session fee. Scholarship opportunities are available for all income or need based skaters in the community, upon application completion, skaters receive a 5-session pass.
Our Mission:
To provide experiential learning and civic participation, by providing opportunities in the skateboarding community to encourage inclusivity.
