Hello everyone,

My name is Nicole Farquharson, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart after Hurricane Melissa devastated my hometown of Whitehouse, Westmoreland, Jamaica.

The hurricane made landfall with unimaginable force, destroying homes, tearing down power lines, flooding entire communities, and leaving families without food, clean water, and shelter. Many people I grew up with — families, children, and the elderly — are now homeless and struggling to survive.

I may be far away, but my heart is right there with my community. I’ve spoken to loved ones who have lost everything — their homes, their clothes, and their hope. I am starting this GoFundMe to raise funds that will go directly toward providing essential supplies such as:

Food and clean drinking water

Clothing and blankets

Hygiene items

Basic medical supplies

Temporary shelter assistance

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference in someone’s life. My goal is to fill and send barrels packed with food, clothes, and essential items to help those most affected in Whitehouse.

This is more than just a fundraiser — it’s a call for love, compassion, and unity. The people of Whitehouse have always been strong, but right now, they need all the help they can get to rebuild and recover.
