Hi everyone, my name is Nikole, and I’m 34 years old. I’m a proud mom to two incredible children—my 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. Both of my pregnancies were miracles, but they were also traumatic, life-altering experiences that came with complications I never could’ve prepared for.

My journey to motherhood began with IVF, which we spent a significant amount of money on just to have a chance at growing our family. When my son was born, what should have been one of the happiest moments of my life turned into an emergency. I suffered a retained placenta and hemorrhaged severely. I nearly lost my life. I didn’t get to see my baby boy for the first 24 hours because I was in intensive care fighting to stabilize.

When I became pregnant with my daughter, I prayed for a safer delivery. But again, things went wrong. Despite my high-risk history, my doctor made decisions that should have been handled differently and ignored my concerns. I was pushed toward another vaginal delivery, and the same terrifying complications happened again. My daughter was born with a pneumothorax and was rushed to the NICU moments after birth. I didn’t get to hold her either.

I also knew something was wrong with me immediately after delivering her. For two days I begged for someone to listen. When they finally did, a CT scan revealed that my uterus had ruptured. It was a life-threatening emergency, and I was taken into surgery where doctors performed a total hysterectomy.

At 30 years old, without warning, the ability to safely carry another child was taken from me.

I love my children deeply, but my heart has always known that my family wasn’t complete. Losing the chance to carry another baby—especially in such a traumatic way—has been incredibly painful. I have grieved something most people never have to think twice about. I wasn’t done. And the decision was never mine.

Today, I’m asking for help to make one final dream come true: to have our last baby through surrogacy.

Surrogacy is a beautiful option, but it is also extremely expensive. Between medical screenings, legal fees, agency costs, IVF procedures, and compensation for a surrogate, the total cost can reach well over $100,000. As a mom who has already been through so much physically, emotionally, and financially, I’m humbly asking for assistance to help make this final chapter of our family possible.
