Bring Hope to Bri and Cait's Adoption Dream

Hello from the Garcia's! We are here writing words we never thought we would need to say and are asking a favor we never thought we would have to ask. We are currently in the process of starting our family through adoption, and have come to a crossroads, with what seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Please take the time to read our story and appreciate any help or words of support that you can offer.

Our names are Bri and Cait Garcia. We have been together for a few years and instantly connected with a unified passion to want to start our family. We first attempted to conceive through Cait. We tried getting pregnant for over a year but found out through the process that Cait had medical complications from her PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), resulting in surgical removal of one of her ovaries and fallopian tubes. We took this as our sign to go down a different route we had discussed, adoption.

We started the adoption process a year ago and thought all was going well. We completed the necessary paperwork and eventually matched with an agency and mother who was 14 weeks along. We had a great relationship with her, speaking to her often, and meeting her family and children. We were ecstatic and anxiously waiting for the birth of our potential daughter. We made the trip out of state in anticipation for the birth. As the due date approached, we had not heard from her for a few days. When she finally reached out, she stated she had gone to the doctor, and her due date had changed. We believed her and traveled back to our home state, waiting, while she continued to tell us she could give birth any day.

Eventually, we were notified our birth mother had given birth a week prior and had decided to keep the baby, lying to us for over a week. We were devasted, shocked, confused, and all the emotions you could feel. Because of trusting her in good faith, we have lost approximately $30,000 we had saved to start our family.

Currently, we still want to pursue our desire to adopt, but financially, we are struggling to find the money needed to continue our process. We are looking into loans and grants but need help with the offset of how much this process has cost us and what it will cost us in the future.

We are both proud individuals and would not ask for help if it were not needed. We understand this is a big ask, but at this point we are at a loss and desperate to find a way to make our dream a reality.

Any donation you would be able to make, no matter how small, or even words of encouragement, or any information anyone has that could help us through this time of our lives would be more helpful than anyone could possibly understand.

We want to thank you for taking the time to read our story, and hopefully someone can read this and know that they are not alone if they have had this happen to them or are currently going through the adoption process and feel hopeless at times. You are not alone. Thank you and we wish you the best.

Love,
Bri and Cait
