Keep Our Canoes Afloat – Help Repair Our Fleet

Dear friends, neighbors, and fellow paddlers,

At Ho’okahi Pu’uwai, our canoes are more than just boats—they’re part of our ohana (family), vessels of joy, connection, and adventure. For years, we’ve welcomed people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the simple, grounding magic of paddling on open water. Whether it's a keiki's first trip across the lagoon, a family’s weekend racing together, or just the feeling of being out in nature, these experiences matter. They bring us together, remind us to breathe, and connect us to something bigger.
But today, we’re facing a challenge we can’t meet alone.

Before our very first race of the season, our twin Malolo 6-person canoes, Ea & Kanaloa, were damaged in a trailering accident while on the way to the race. They have been badly damaged and repair estimates are costly. Without repairs, we won’t be able to safely offer the programs and outings that mean so much to so many. As a small non-profit, we simply don’t have the funds to cover these repairs on our own.
That’s why we’re reaching out to you—our community—for help.

Our Goal: $10,000

The total cost of repairing both canoes exceeds our goal of $10,000. Fortunately, thanks to a combination of insurance funds and generous contributions from our members, we've been able to cover a significant portion of the expenses. We’re now aiming to raise the remaining $10,000 needed to fully fund the specialized professional repairs required to restore both canoes. Every contribution helps bring us closer to getting them back on the water.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps. Whether you’ve paddled with us before, or simply believe in what we do, your support means the world. You’re not just helping fix canoes—you’re helping us continue to provide a tradition, connection, and a little bit of magic on the water.
If you can, please donate. And if you can’t give right now, consider sharing our story. It only takes a moment, but it makes a big difference.

With gratitude and hope,
Ho’okahi Pu’uwai Outrigger Canoe Club
