I am a husband separated from the woman I love, doing everything in my power to bring my wife home. My wife, Greisy, is currently in immigration detention, and our family is facing the most painful chapter of our lives.

Greisy has always tried to do things the right way. She followed the immigration requirements placed before her and showed up exactly as instructed to what was expected to be her final appointment in her immigration process. Instead, she was unexpectedly taken into custody.

More than 18 days have now passed. At her bond hearing, the judge expressed that release was possible, but that additional federal review was required. Since then, we have been waiting—doing everything legally available to us while time stretches on painfully.

Greisy is not a danger to anyone. She is a kind, gentle, and loving person who brings light into every space she enters. If you know Greisy, you already understand why people are drawn to her. She is my wife of three years, my best friend, and the heart of our home.

During this detention, our family suffered an unimaginable loss. Greisy, who was newly pregnant at the time, lost our child. We are grieving that loss while continuing to fight for her safety, health, and return home.
