Bring events back to Woodhouse!

Due to a complaint, our use permit is under evaluation, and we are now working with the City of Santa Cruz to hopefully resume holding space for local artists. Until then, keep us in mind!

From the get-go, we had full intentions of opening up to you all—to being a gathering space for our community, but we truly had no idea to what capacity that would be possible, or of the magnitude to which we would receive. But still, we fought on the way that small businesses do, paying painfully for each delay, working our fingers to the bone and our backs to the breaking point. With the dream of being on the map always just barely out of reach, but fully in sight.

And after a five-year battle to turn an unused junkyard lot and a decommissioned wood mill warehouse into the place you see today, we have been asked to cease any kind of entertainment whatsoever—juggling, spoken word, and card shows included. We do understand that there is a process to being an official community host for entertainment, and we are attempting to fare this process now with a great attitude, and with you, a wonderful community at our backs.

The process of bringing entertainment back to Woodhouse will be costly and tedious, in addition, we will suffer major losses in income considering events were how we brought the community together in our space—off the beaten path.
