Operation Bring Emery Home: A Mother's Plea for Help

UPDATE: I have had some incredible angels reach out and offer to assist me with funding for the initial move in costs. The funds already raised and all future funds donated will be used for the moving truck, replacing things that we had stolen during the breakins that destroyed my home, application fees and any other costs incurred to make this dream come true and bring Emery home to her mommy.

I will start this out by saying thank you for even just reading my story. I have a really big problem asking for help when I need it. I’ve struggled and clawed my way through the last year of recovery, praying for the day my daughter and I would be reunited. I have come to realize I simply can’t bring her home alone. I eat, sleep, and breathe thoughts of how to make this happen, and I’m swallowing my pride and calling on Emery’s village to help bring her home where she belongs.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise money for the security deposit and first month's rent on a new home or apartment for the two of us. Last March, people vandalized and stole everything that wasn’t tied down in my home, and then against my wishes, I was forced to sell it in June, leaving me without a home to call my own.

A year ago, a judge in Antrim Co. decided that I was unfit to be a mother for Emery because I had allowed horrible people and drugs to infiltrate my life. I’ve spent the last year trying to prove to friends, family, and this judge that I am no longer a woman who deserves to be separated from her child. But what I’ve finally realized is that it doesn’t even matter whether or not I’m voted mom of the year…this judge has made it so now I have to prove I can AFFORD to be Emery’s mom. It makes me sick to think about, but it’s the truth.

I’m currently working and have the means to support and prove I’m MORE than capable of having this nightmare guardianship terminated for good. I know who I am, and I am a great person and an incredible mother. My daughter deserves to be reunited with the one person who loves her more than anything or anybody else in the whole world.

Every little bit counts when it comes to this…by supporting this GoFundMe, it will allow Emery to come home sooner and for us to start out our next chapter together on the right foot.
