Almost three years ago, my brother Douglas Carillo Jr. decided to moved to California with his girlfriend (cancer survivor) and her three children to pursue a job opportunity. Initially things were great, but problems to present it’s self between him and her older daughter which began to make things difficult. Despite the growing tension, he continued to support and provide for the family because of the love he has for his girlfriend.

About two years ago he fell while working and injured his hip. Initially he was on workers comp but the company denied the claim. Not long after injury, he was diagnosed cancer of the pancreas and kidney. He is currently getting treatment for his kidney cancer which appears to be helping and we don’t know what the prognosis is for the pancreas treatment possibilities are.

His girlfriend was helping him out for a while, but came back to Hawaii in May to bring her children back for the summer. She since has not returned to California.

He wants to come back to Hawaii but doesn’t have the funds or any help to pack everything up to move back home. He hasn’t been able to work for two years and the medical bills are building up. Please send what you can to help us pack him up to get him back to Hawaii to his Ohana.
