"Jose" is a husband, father, son, and brother from Ecuador, who was unexpectedly detained at his regular immigration check in.

"Jose" and his family sadly left their beautiful country of Ecuador because their living situation became too dangerous. They had a small business that was going well, but they started to receive threats of extortion. Fearing for the well being of their three greatest treasures--their three daughters--"Jose", his wife, and his children fled for the United States. Their arduous journey was fraught with peril, and they walked many miles enduring nights sleeping on the floor and moments without food or water. Finally, they made it to the border where they asked for asylum. Eduardo has not forgotten for one moment his family and his pets back in Ecuador, and continues to provide for them.

"Jose" brought his family to the United States not only for their safety, but to work hard and make a future for themselves. He found employment working nights, and complied with every single federally mandated obligation to stay in compliance with his asylum status. Because of this, everyone was shocked and devastated by his detention.

A little about "Jose": in addition to being a father of three girls, he is a resolute and indefatigable worker. He not only supports his family here in the United States; he also supports his elderly parents in Ecuador. Without "Jose's" financial support, his parents will not be able to sustain themselves.

"Jose's" family wants everyone to know he is an amazing father, husband, son, brother, brother in law, and son in law he is. He's also a kind and caring human being. He has helped many people in need, and has a special soft spot for animals. He has rescued many dogs and cats from poor conditions in the streets and from bad owners, giving them a home full of love. Jose and his family are devout Catholics and live the words of Jesus's teachings throughout their daily life. They believe God has a plan, but they also know they need to work hard to do their part.

From "Jose's" daughter: "Please help my father return home so we can have peace in our hearts. Help me by donating and sharing. Give me your hand, dear brother. Thank you for your support."

Please help us pay for legal fees to return "Jose" to his family. We are also asking for money to support "Jose's" family both here and in Ecuador, since he is the sole person supporting economically. "Jose's" wife is currently looking for employment, but the family will need support financially in the meantime.
