Behind the smiles, there are tears. I returned this summer from a service trip in a small village in Krobo, Ghana. These wonderful children live in sweltering heat and under deplorable conditions. Due to lack of funding, the government turns off the water each day, leaving them with no water to drink. Thanks to the generosity of those who have already donated, we have nearly completed drilling a borehole, which will provide regular access to water for the entire community.
Once this is finished, we will move on to another area of urgent need: medications and medical supplies. The man pictured in one of our photos is in desperate need of a hospital bed. This is just one of many examples of the needs of the community.
This year, I plan to start a foundation called Caring for Krobo. This fundraiser will hopefully be the first of many projects to benefit the amazing people of Krobo.
