Summary

In the villages of kamuge, Nabuli and Bulangila in Uganda, hundreds of families rely on a single water well. Every day, children, women, and men queue up with countless jerrycans, hoping to fetch enough water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. The overcrowding leads to long waits, frustration, and, at times, unsafe water practices. With your help, we can construct new water wells to ensure everyone has access to clean, safe, and sufficient water.

The Problem

Access to clean water is a daily struggle for the communities in these villages. With only one functional water well serving over three villages, the situation has become dire. People wake up at dawn and often spend hours waiting for their turn, leaving little time for education, work, or other essential activities. The overcrowding not only causes delays but also increases the wear and tear on the existing well, threatening its future functionality.

Our Solution

We aim to build three new water wells in the most affected areas of these villages. Each well will:

• Serve hundreds of families daily.

• Provide clean and safe water, reducing health risks caused by dirty or stagnant water sources.

• Alleviate overcrowding at the existing well, ensuring fair and easy access for everyone.

• Save time for children and women, empowering them to focus on education and other productive activities.

Our Goal

To achieve this, we need to raise £3,000. This amount will cover:

1. Feasibility studies and surveying the best well locations.

2. Drilling and construction of two water wells.

3. Installing hand pumps and ensuring the wells meet all safety and quality standards.

4. Community training to maintain the wells.
