Bring Christmas Joy to Santo Domingo Orphanage

update: Because of the overwhelming responses, I have asked the Director of the Orphanage if there is a desperate need for something in addition to food. She stated a washer, a dryer and a stove. They are washing 40 children’s clothing by hand. The current stove if only working half the time. Because I believe that we serve a God that provides exceedingly, abundantly above all else, I know he will provide for these much needed items.

Hello everyone, as some may or may not know, my husband and I have been assisting a local orphanage in Santo Domingo for over 5 years, providing food and basic items needed.

My heart is in pieces right now as the director messaged me to let me know that they have no one to sponsor the orphanage's Christmas dinner. Not one church or anyone has donated… this is a first in the history of this orphanage. Hence why my heart hurts to think that 40 children will go without Christmas dinner or even a small Christmas gift… I am crying as I write this.

So I am turning to my community to help me put together a Christmas the children of the orphanage will remember for a lifetime.

If you feel led in your heart to donate any amount, it will be a tremendous help.

If you’re in DR for the 12/22 or 12/23 timeframe, I welcome the extra hands to help haul everything to them and break bread with the staff and kids. We did this a few years ago and it was life-altering.
