For years, chess players throughout Northern Nevada have gathered in libraries, coffee shops, schools, and temporary venues whenever space was available. While these locations have helped grow our chess community, we have always shared one dream:

A permanent home for chess.

Today, that dream is becoming reality.

The Northern Nevada Chess Center is being created as a dedicated space where children, families, adults, seniors, beginners, and competitive players can learn, play, and grow together. More than just a chess club, this center will serve as a community hub focused on education, critical thinking, mentorship, and lifelong learning.

Chess teaches discipline, patience, planning, problem-solving, and resilience. It helps students succeed academically, provides meaningful social interaction, and creates friendships that span generations.

Our vision is to offer:

We are opening the doors, but building a thriving community center takes more than a building—it takes a community that believes in the mission.
