For the past 10 months, my stepfather Charlie has been in the hospital facing serious health challenges. Even though Charlie and my mother, Gail, live in Vermont, he was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in New York due to unforeseen circumstances. During this time, my mother has not been able to visit him due to financial limitations — something that has taken a deep emotional toll on both of them.

Charlie has been fighting every day and recently suffered a stroke. This means he will likely need longer care in the facility. The road has been long and difficult, and being apart for this long, especially during such a hard time, has been heartbreaking.

We are raising funds to help cover my mother’s travel expenses so she can finally be by Charlie’s side. Every dollar will go directly toward transportation, hotels, and any basic needs she might have during her stay.
