I am an art educator, arts advocate, and community-focused Dallas artist on a mission to outfit and install a kiln for the Art on Main community!
This past year, I took on a new high school teaching assignment that involved -gulp!- Ceramics 2! The challenge of diving straight into a new medium quickly evolved into love (obsession!) as I learned alongside some brilliant young artists. The journey inspired me to incorporate ceramics into my artistic practice, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to share this newfound love with my collaborators and studio-mates at my studio space: Art on Main.
This June, I had the opportunity to pick up a free kiln. After discussions with my studio owner and several studio mates, I decided to upgrade my studio space to accommodate this kiln, with the goal of providing ceramics and glass firings for my studio. The kiln needs some repairs (a new controller), a safely installed electrical panel, an exhaust vent, and kiln furniture. Visions of future workshops, events, and a bustling ceramics community in Old East Dallas have spurred me to create this campaign to offset the cost associated with getting the kiln up and running.
Your support will help me repair, safely install, and operate this beautiful machine, and allow me to provide ceramics services at my studio in Dallas!
