Bring CBT's Nutcracker Back to the Wharton Center

For over 40 years, Michigan audiences have enjoyed attending the annual Thanksgiving performance of the Children's Ballet Theatre Company's (CBT's) Nutcracker at the Wharton Center.

Unfortunately, the COVID19 pandemic severely impacted CBT financially. Despite CBT's best efforts to sustain operations and support the artistic development of its dancers and Children's Miracle Network (CMN) dancers, the company has not been able to secure funds to bring this cherished holiday tradition back to the Wharton Center from the temporary venues it has been performing at.

The loss of the opportunity for CBT dancers to realize their dreams of dancing on such a renowned stage has been heartbreaking. It has been equally heartbreaking to the mid-Michigan area to have lost such a magical holiday experience.

Please know that while our goal remains to bring CBT's Nutcracker back to the Wharton Center, if we are unable to reach our goal, the funds raised will be used to continue the Nutcracker tradition at alternative locations and help keep CBT mission alive.
