I grew up surrounded by open skies and wild places, and from a young age I felt a deep love for nature and its creatures. The story of the American bison has always moved me. Once a keystone of our prairies, bison were driven to the brink, and restoring them feels like righting a profound wrong and healing the land they belong to.

That is why I am supporting Defenders of Wildlife. For more than 75 years, this organization has been the leading voice for imperiled wildlife and their habitats across North America. Their work to reestablish bison herds and protect the ecosystems they need connects people, culture, and the natural world in ways that last for generations.

When we restore bison, we do more than bring back a species. We rebuild healthy grasslands, support other wildlife, and honor Indigenous stewardship and cultural connections.
