Our family is living a nightmare we never imagined. Our father, Belizario Perez-Laynes, a legal U.S. resident for over 20 years, was arrested on Saturday, November 1st while working at a garden center. Even though he had his valid documents with him, the officer didn’t let him show them before taking him away.

Since that day, his three American-born children have been desperately trying to find him. We’ve searched every government database and called countless agencies, but we still have no official information. From two short phone calls, we learned he’s being moved between facilities and may now be at a place people call “Alligator Alcatraz.” He told us the conditions are unbearable and he’s not being properly fed.

Our dad is a kind, hardworking man who has spent two decades building a better life for our family and contributing to his community. Now, he needs our help.

We’re raising funds to hire a human rights and immigration lawyer and cover the costs of locating and bringing him home safely. Any amount—no matter how small—will make a difference.
