Bring Andy home to Kentucky

Hey, all-

As you likely know, our beloved Aundria set off on a new adventure 2 years ago: to complete a graduate degree in Medical Anthropology at OSU in Corvallis, Oregon. In July of 2021, she packed up her trusty car with books, clothes, art, and big ideas about the future of midwifery in Kentucky.

Andy was lucky to secure a home to rent, surrounded by trees in the hills outside Corvallis, and settled in for an intensive period of reading, writing, and thinking. School's been good overall- loads of opportunity to collaborate with other radical, evidence-based, community-minded folks. Unfortunately, there were some big surprises in store.

Shortly after arriving, Andy started experiencing some significant, life-altering, and ongoing health challenges, which made every part of their time in Oregon much harder than expected. While her people have been supporting her from afar in a variety of ways, it's not the same as having your community wrapped around you during a crisis. However, she's finally at a point where she can come back home to Louisville: to community, to family, and to the city she loves, in all its complicated charm and conflict.

As I'm sure you know, Andy has spent a good part of her life showing up for other people in a variety of ways- with practical, emotional, and physical support. Now it's our turn to pass that love on, if you are able. They plan to leave Oregon in 6 weeks. We are fundraising to help support the following needs:
