Bring Andres Guerrero Back to His Family

Summary of Events:
Early on the morning of September 3, 2025, my husband, Andres Guerrero, left the house to go to work. Within one minute of pulling out of our driveway, our life was forever changed. He was stopped by three unmarked vehicles. Unbeknownst to us, ICE officers had been sitting across the street in the parking lot of an office building. They watched and waited for him to go to work for over an hour. Within minutes I rushed to the scene. I begged the ICE officers to please check his status again, but instead I was mocked, laughed at and threatened with arrest as they took my husband away. Our lawyer was able to confirm my husband did not have an order of deportation and should not have been detained by ICE. Almost immediately an ICE agent in Cincinnati agreed that a mistake was made but stated that they would not release him since he was now in custody. His case is currently under the jurisdiction of Columbus Ohio ICE. Columbus agents remain unresponsive to our lawyers. It has been over a week with no hope for a court date in the future.

Who is Andres:
Andres is someone that truly believed in the American dream. He came to this country from Ecuador with no family, completely alone. He made that sacrifice to try to live somewhere that is safe and where he had the ability to have a better life. He has worked so hard to build a future for our family. He sets goals and works hard to accomplish them. He happily pays taxes, thinking that this would speak to his character and desire to be a United States Citizen. Andres is loving and compassionate. My mother and stepfather needed a new roof for their house, which is a significant expense for a retired couple. Andres paid for their roof, expecting nothing in return. When our neighbors need help with something, they come to him because he is always willing to help or even provide work for them when needed.
We have a four-year-old daughter that is searching for her ‘Papi’ every day. She adores him. He is the one that will push her on her swing all evening or do somersaults with her while she pretends to have gymnastics competitions. They sing and dance. He worships her and wants to give her the world. She is his motivation in life and now she is suffering without him. It is breaking my heart to hear her asking for him every evening. She had her first day of preschool four days after his detainment. This was a day that we had talked excitedly about for months, that now has been forever tarnished by this moment.

Why our family needs your help:
We would normally never ask for financial assistance, but due to the extreme financial hardship that this has imposed on our family, I am setting up this GoFundMe. My husband was the primary breadwinner, and I am already starting to experience financial strain without him.
Any funds received will be used for the following:
• Legal fees associated with his detention and appeals.
• Expenses for my husband while he is detained such as phone calls and food and hygiene products.
• Various bills like loans, credit card payments and household expenses such as food, utilities and insurance.
• Reduce family debt to make future living expenses more manageable on a single income.
• Any other unexpected cost that may be incurred related to this life altering situation

How you can help:
Any financial assistance that you are able to contribute at this time is truly appreciated. If you are unable to donate at this time, please consider sharing so that our plea reaches a wider audience.
