Hello world, our family is in a bit of a crisis right now and to be honest, we quite literally NEED help. My nephews went to Mexico for their first visitation with their mom since she moved there as was ordered by the custody court when she left. My sister flew to pick them up a week later only to be told when she landed that a lawyer had called my brother-in-law to inform him she was not giving the kids back as is part of the court-mandated custody agreement.
My nephews have now been gone for a month today, and we are fighting for their lives here. What seems so obvious to us is proving to be a long and extremely expensive task to collaborate with both governments' agencies. We have to have a lawyer here in the US as well as a lawyer in Mexico to attend court there. My nephews are US citizen children; they've never been to Mexico before now; they were very clear they do not wish to live in Mexico before they left. They have built a beautiful life here in Indiana. They are happy, active, and incredibly smart young men who we all love and miss very much.
My brother-in-law does have full custody, both physical and legal, and yet this is still a battle between courts to find the correct way to execute the return of them to their lives and to school. They've now been missing from school for 3 weeks. Their mother refuses to communicate with anyone, leaving us to wonder if they're even okay at this point. We're already about $10,000 deep, and it's appearing that it will be about double that to get this done. These boys deserve to be fought for, and they deserve the life they wanted when they were here. They do not know anyone there, and it seems that their mother's goal is to completely cut them off from the only life they've ever known. A life they want, a home they want, the education they want, and the community of family, friends, teachers, classmates, and teammates that support them every single day.
Any amount is quite literally rescuing our boys from the life they've made very, very clear they didn't want to have as their permanent situation. Share to anyone and everyone. This is a parent's literal worst nightmare, and my brother and our families are not going to give up until Andres and Iker come home. Thank you so much for any and all help. If anyone has a way to share on a large platform, we would appreciate it more than anyone could ever know. ❤️❤️❤️
