Bring Alejandra Martinez Home to Her Kids

Donation protected
This is Alejandra Martinez. She is a devoted mother of two. Her youngest is still a toddler, and her eldest is just starting sixth grade. Earlier this July, Alejandra was detained by ICE and is now being held in a California detention center. Her bail has been set at $15,000. Until it's paid, she faces the terrifying possibility of spending anywhere from two months to five years in a detention facility.

Her only “offense”? Seeking safety and a better life.

Alejandra came to the United States to escape relentless violence in her home country, violence that targets women and children with no accountability nor end in sight. She risked everything to give her kids a chance at peace, at joy, at a future. And now, she's being punished for trying to protect them.

Overstaying a visa is not a crime. It's a civil violation, no more criminal than a parking ticket. Yet Alejandra is being treated like a threat to the country, torn away from her children, denied the right to hold them, comfort them, and know they're okay.

Imagine being a child, wondering why your mother isn't coming home. Imagine being a mother, lying awake every night, praying your babies are safe.

We can change this. We can bring Alejandra home.

Every dollar brings her closer to freedom. Every donation is a step toward justice, compassion, and reunion. Please give what you can and share her story. Together, we can make sure Alejandra's children get their mother back.
