Bring Alejandra Home

Donation protected
Yonkers Sanctuary Movement is putting up this fundraiser on behalf of Yonkers community member Dinora Martínez, whose daughter Alejandra has been detained in Louisiana since June 26.

Alejandra is 24 years old. She traveled to the U.S. in June to escape violence in her home country of Honduras, where one of her cousins was killed. She was detained while seeking asylum and has been held in immigration detention in Louisiana since June 26.

Alejandra has a chance to fight her case. She wants to reunite with her mother, Dinora, in New York, and finish her education, but first she needs help to raise funds for her legal defense.

Update 8/21/2019: All funds raised here will be withdrawn by LaMont Badru, Executive Director of the Community Governance and Development Council (YSM's fiscal sponsor) and then given directly to Dinora Martínez. More information about CGDC is available in Update #2 below.

Donate and share to help reunite this family.

In solidarity,
Gina Caputo, on behalf of Yonkers Sanctuary Movement
