Bring a Festive Sparkle to Penrith

Lets make Penrith Sparkle!
Penrith has a failing stock of festive lights that are either now un repairable or soon will be.
Although efforts have been made by Penrith BID to fund a festive sparkle campagne and has had some lighting over the past few years, it hasnt been to its full potention and there has been a want from the local community to grow upon the lighting and create a proper organised switch on event.
This unfortunately a very costly exercise.
The town centre businesses through the Penrith BID they pay in to has kindly donated £20,000 towards the £60,000 needed to replace the stock of lights and to improve upon our current selection.
To make this possoble we urge you all to do your bit and raise as much as you can and donate what ever you can afford to make Penrith a town not only to be extra proud of this Christmas period but for future ones too.
You may ask why the council isnt paying for the lighting? every council in the UK is making budget cuts and xmas isnt an affordable cost for most councils in todays financila climate therefore it is down to small not for profit organisations such as Penrith BId to ensure Penrith Sparkles for the community of Penrith and Eden.
All funding will be managed by Penrith Business Improvment in the organisation and implementation of a festive lighting scheme and lights switch on event.
