Brighton Rogues: Larna's Epic Cycling Challenge

Hello, we are the Brighton Rogues, a family of hockey enthusiasts from the vibrant coastal city of Brighton. Our team is bound by a Team Charter that outlines our core values, and one of our very own, Larna, is about to embody these values in an extraordinary way.

Larna is embarking on an epic cycling journey to Paris! This challenge is not just about her; it's about our team, our game, and our community. We play as a team, and while Larna may be the one pedalling, we'll be there cheering her on and helping her raise the funds.

This cycle challenge is about ensuring that everyone gets a game. We're not focused on our position in the divisions and leagues. We're doing this so everyone can play. In our team, everyone is equal, there is no hierarchy. All of our players can have a say in what we do and they all raise money in any way that they feel will work. This happens to be Larna’s 'bright' idea.

Larna's goal is to raise a minimum of £500. The funds will be used to purchase new leg guards for our team’s keeper and contribute £250 towards the Pay it Forward Fund. This fund, set up by two anonymous Rogues, aims to help those who are struggling to afford to play.

Larna will kick off her journey on the 26th of June, from our home pitch in Falmer. She’ll head over to Newhaven, hop on the ferry to Dieppe, and then cycle approximately 100 miles to Paris. She hasn’t managed to secure GB game tickets, so instead, she’ll listen to it in front of the Eiffel tower instead – how romantic!

She’s a nice mixture of terrified and excited, as she’s never done something like this alone – and she’s not completely confident on how to change a tire. But we’re sure she’ll be just fine. After all, she’s a Rogue, and Rogues never back down from a challenge!
