(for the lovers)
Years ago I ended up in the emergency room after feeling incredible heartbreak and loneliness on Valentine's Day, so it sparked a tradition: community outreach and spreading kindness on this holiday that is often minimized and forgotten when it comes to charitable giving.
One year it was pretty gift bags to a domestic violence shelter, another year to a homeless shelter, etc. Fresh flowers, quality self care gifts, sweets, and notes to remind people that they are not alone and that love will find them!
This year I will be teaming with the creator of the "Good Mail" project (kajsa.love) plus friends, lighting up the "City of Roses" (Portland, OR) with flowers, sweets, handcrafted love letters, and Valentine's Day cards, to share the love with anyone we come across.
If you feel touched by this act of community love or know how lonely a heart can get, please consider donating to our gift fund so we can reach even more people. Our biggest cost will be flowers, but I can tell you fresh flowers truly make people's day and brightens spirits. The sooner we place the flower orders, the more affordable they will be.
We will not be discriminating and will be gifting anyone we come across who are open to receiving. We all need to feel like someone is looking out for our hearts and that love, the glue that holds it all together, is still alive.
Please consider contributing to the cause. You never know how acts of selfless love may make their way back to you in the grand scheme of things.
Thank you.
