Caitlin and Brogan would like to introduce Bridgton’s Little Blessing Shed! We are working with the First Congregational Church to provide a space where folks can take (or leave) any household goods, pet supplies, children’s items and working appliances. TOTALLY FREE!
The inspiration came from our grandmothers… The women who would always searched their pantries and homes for items for community members in need. Always opening up their homes, wallets and hearts for those less fortunate.
This Blessing Shed will be open to the public 7 days a week! But It will be closed at night to ensure a safe space for everyone. The idea is that… it’s all free! No charge for a single thing!
Some basic facts about the shed!
- The shed is being built by the talented kids at the Vocational center! We are paying the exact sale price and not a penny less- as all the funds go to this wonderful program.
- It’s going to be located in the church parking lot right off the side road ( up to the roofing business) for easy access! Pull right up to the shed to ether leave items or take items!
- There will be a separate donation box outside the building for 24/7 donating options!
- We love the dump store, but this is open 7 days a week and completely FREE!
- We are raising funds for : cost of the building, transport of the building, concrete disks to set the building on keep it off the ground and trying to collect a small amount of pressure treated material for a handicap accessible ramp. As well as a Solar light for safety in dark winter hours. And finally a lock with a punch code on it to allow access for after hour emergencies.
Caitlin is a bookkeeper by trade and handles all the finances! If you have any donation questions please feel free to ask!
We will be having a ribbon cutting / opening once the snow is gone and everything is paid for and built! The aim is first of May!
We are accepting some donations now to get ready for the opening - please contact us/ Brogan for drop off information
Shed Donation Rules
- Accepting donations of household goods, pet supplies, children’s toys and kids supplies etc
We are accepting limited coats, snow pants, and shoes but that’s all as the wonderful church offers Jeanette’s closet, which is a fully functioning clothing closet.
At this time, we are unable to accommodate large pieces of furniture, but if you have some to donate, please contact us as we are able to either share it or have a small list of folks who need certain items. Small items are accepted.
Please! Make sure any electronics are limited to TVs VCRs and DVD players. Please make sure they are in working order as it would cost us money to bring them to the transfer station.
Please make sure any assorted appliances, dishes, or kitchenware are clean and in working order.
Please make sure any children’s items donated are clean as we have no way to wash them on a large scale.
This also goes for any bedding or blankets as well, please.
Thank you all so much for being such a giving community! Many hands make for a wonderful community! ❤️
