Five years ago, I had an overdose from prescription medication and a stroke that changed my life forever. I was put on life support and fell into a coma. When I finally woke up, I couldn't walk—my legs felt like jello—and the doctors told my family that I would never talk or walk again. I spent the last five years wheelchair-bound, and there were times I truly thought my life was over.

The journey since then has been long and difficult. I spent years in a nursing home, working every day to regain my strength and independence. Through determination, therapy, and the support of those around me, I have made incredible progress. Now, I am finally able to walk again, something I was told would never happen. I am ready to leave the nursing home and start living on my own in an apartment.

The funds I am raising will help me secure an apartment and buy the furniture I need to make it a home.
