In the late afternoon of February 24th, Bridgeport Condominiums suffered a major fire in one of its buildings causing catastrophic damage to at least six units and additional damage to another six adjacent units in a neighboring building.

12 families and at least 15 people are now displaced from their residence, with 6 families facing a certain prospect of long term displacement. Most personal items not damaged by fire or smoke, are certainly damaged by water and prolonged saturation.

The Bridgeport Board of Directors is attempting to reach out to all members of the Community and the greater Laurel region in an effort to provide a pooled resource aid fund for the affected victims of the fire. Any donation, small or large, is welcomed and appreciated!
