Bridge Education Gaps in Rural Kenya

Hi everyone,

My name is Jaimie, and I’m proud to lead the Pen Pal Kenya project, a program that connects students from my school in Miami with students in rural Kenya. This project started in 2021 when my sister founded the club, and her passion for helping others inspired me to get involved. After forming my own meaningful connection with a pen pal in Kenya, I took over the club after she graduated.

Our mission is to improve education and women’s hygiene in rural Kenyan communities. We do this through letter exchanges that foster cultural connections and by organizing fundraisers to support educational infrastructure and hygiene initiatives. Under my leadership, the club has grown into the largest at our school. I’ve worked hard to bring in more members, set up a board system for smooth coordination, and expand our impact.

This year, we’re raising funds to continue supporting schools in Kenya with essential resources like books, supplies, and sanitary products for girls. Every donation goes directly toward making a difference in these students’ lives.
