Bridge Building in Rwanda

Hi, I’m Peter — a Chemical Engineer about to build a bridge in Rwanda. Surely that makes sense.
I have the good fortune of being selected to volunteer on an amazing opportunity with a not-for-profit called Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) to help build a trail bridge in a rural Rwandan community. This structure will provide around 2,000 people safe, year-round access to schools, healthcare, and economic opportunities — something that wasn’t possible before due to a dangerous river crossing during the rainy seasons.
This mission is personal and hands-on. I’ll be on the ground, physically working alongside locals and witnessing the impact in real time.
My employer, WSP has generously contributed to my flights, B2P sponsorship fee (which supports materials, logistics, and local labour) and part of my time there. I am filling the gap for all remaining costs for myself (Time, tools, PPE etc).
So why am I seeking funds?
Any funds I raise will go directly to the local community in the form of school supplies or other essentials. (Essentials might include a soccer ball given there are 1300 school kids) That is dollar for dollar. No overheads, no administration.
I'm absolutely wrapped to embark on this adventure but I need your help!
Whether it’s $10, $50, or simply sharing this page, your support will make a real and lasting difference — to me and the community we’ll be serving. Thank you!
PS If anyone has an old rain coat and rain pants I could have let me know. Some of the work is greasy and dirty and won't survive the adventure.
