Buy ALL the bricks to build an orphanage in Kenya

Hi everyone, I have personally taken on the challenge of raising enough money to buy ALL the bricks to build a new orphanage in Kenya.

If every friend from my Facebook profile were able to donate just £10 each, I could achieve this.... (see photo below of the build plans!)

The picture above is of myself and two siblings, Mary and Simon, that I sponsor at the orphanage for just £15 a month (per child). I spent time with them in June this year and heard first hand how they and their 3 brothers and sisters were orphaned after their parents died in an horrific car crash. It was such an emotional day.

If you are able to donate I would be extremely grateful because without kindness and generosity from you and many others, Books and Bread for Kenya could not help such a vast amount of underprivileged and destitute children in Kenya.  So I thank you.

Below is a bit more info about the charity, our black tie fundraiser and why we need to build a new home for the orphans....

Established in 2008, BBK is a Christian charity which currently supports two orphanages, a rescue centre for abused and neglected children, a hospital, three extremely poor villages and many individuals in distressing need. The four trustees of BBK are truly inspiring however as they approach the ages of 79, 76, 76 and 69 they feel as though they may not be able to run up Mount Kilimanjaro like they used to do! With this in mind BBK is looking to ensure that all of its projects are self-sufficient for the coming future.

Books and Bread for Kenya is holding its first ever black tie fundraiser, ‘Out Of Africa’ on Thursday, 26th Sept. 2019 at Ramside Hall, County Durham www.bbkafrica.org/upcoming-events

The aim is to raise approximately £24,000 to build a secure home for our children who are currently living in rented accommodation known as Jesus Healing Ministry orphanage. With the threat of eviction ever present, BBK wants to secure the children’s futures as we simply cannot allow them to return to the streets where they were found.

Our charity runs as a strict non-profit organisation. This means that we endeavour to pass on 100% of the money donated to us. Everyone involved with the charity is a volunteer, there are no wages paid. When we travel out to Kenya with supplies and to ensure that projects are being managed correctly, volunteers personally fund this. No money is spent on fancy advertising campaigns or websites and when we say your donation will go to purchasing food, education, medical treatment or to the build of an orphanage, that is exactly where it will go to. 100% transparent. 100% accountable. The only expenditure is for our charity shop rent and subsequent bills. The shop is our main source of income and thankfully provides enough revenue to cover the outlay.

Thank you so much for your time, your actions will greatly impact a child’s life and for this we offer our genuine, heartfelt gratitude.
