Brian Scott Reynolds Memorial Fund

My name is Lucy Batista. My husband Mike and I are friends of Brian and Jane's. Many of us in the community loved Brian; he will be missed dearly. We were heartbroken and saddened when we heard the news of Brian's sudden passing. We were left shocked and empty, wanting to do something to help. While we can't ease his family's grief, we can support them with contributions to the La Costa Canyon High School Football/Golf Team Foundation. The Reynolds family believed in and participated in these programs for years. 

Brian Scott Reynolds, 50, died Sunday, August 7, 2022, while participating in the Alcatraz swim in San Francisco.

Born January 28, 1972, in San Diego, CA, Brian was a committed son, husband, father and friend who loved to play golf, watch sports and spend time with family and friends. A life-long resident of Southern California, Brian graduated from the University of California, Riverside. He became a successful businessman, passionate youth sports coach and beloved pillar of the Carlsbad community.

Brian’s pride and joy was his family − watching his sons grow up playing sports and achieving academically and personally. Whether coaching his sons’ sports teams or cheering them on from the sidelines with his wife, Brian’s life and love were centered around his family and raising his sons to be respectful and accomplished men.

Brian was best known for his humor, larger-than-life personality, positive outlook on life and the infectious energy surrounding him. He was a leader that inspired everyone around him to find the best in themselves, a coach dedicated to positively impacting the lives of the many youth players on his teams and a man that anyone was lucky to call a friend.

Brian is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jane Reynolds and his two sons, Matthew and Christian Reynolds.

A memorial service and reception will be held on Friday, August 26th, at 1 pm at the North Coast Church Vista Campus.
