Hi, my name is Jaeson and I am fundraising for Brian Parkyn and his family.
The funds will be used to help his family transition and to pay off Brian's house.

I would like to tell you about a warrior.

Brian Parkyn was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on June 20th, 1961.
He met his beautiful wife Bernice in Newfoundland, around 40 years ago and this coming September will mark their 37th anniversary.

In 1997 they planted roots in the country and purchased the home they still live in today. Facing the rigors of life’s challenges, they persevered and raised their two sons, Michael and Kevin.

In turn, Brian’s sons began their own families, and Brian has been blessed with 4 grandchildren: Hudson – 8, Harper -6, Ryleigh – 9 and Elijah – 4.

They are a source of joy and love for all of them.

Brian’s main passion outside of his work is gardening and every year he sows the seeds of the vegetables and strawberries that arrive in season.

Brian started with Grimco in May of 1987. He knew then that he had found a place to call home. He has never regretted it. It’s never the same day twice and never boring.

I understand the connection of utility for a man of Brian’s many capabilities.

Between 2022 and 2024 Brian faced and conquered 3 serious cancers. He received his all clear in March of 2024.
On Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, Brian received word that a new cancer had appeared in his right lung and was deemed incurable.

Brian said that he can’t fight this one, so he is going to do his best to make each day count.

During the time I was fortunate enough to spend with Brian, I found a great many things to both appreciate and treasure. His conviction is old school and speaks to the foundations that many choose to build their life upon: respect, integrity, and getting the job done right.

Brian’s reach extends far within our local community, and considerably further across the breadth of our industry and business. The extending ripples are a testament to the service he prided himself upon and will remain as part of his legacy.

In this world, there are people who need to be reminded that a warrior’s sacrifice is worth choosing.
Brian is one of those people.

It is at this moment that you have an opportunity to help ignite the fire of that recognition.

As the hue of his comet blaze sets to streak the sky once more before crossing the horizon line towards Valhalla, let us remind him that we see the measure of his worth.
